Poland is a popular destination for foreign nationals in Europe. The country offers a wide range of vacancies and attractive employment conditions, especially for those who are willing to work in manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, IT and many other industries. Let's talk about the details of employment in Poland.

It is worth noting that Poland's economy is at a fairly high level when compared to the situation in Eastern European countries. Due to its geography, the country is in demand in the labor and tourism industries.

What are the advantages of employment in Poland?

One of the main advantages of finding a job in Poland is relatively high salaries. Poland offers high salaries compared to other Eastern European countries, which attracts many foreign workers.

Salary in Poland

As of the first six months of 2023, the minimum wage in Poland is

- 3450 PLN ($824) gross per month;

- 22.50 PLN ($5.3) gross per hour.

However, the amount you will receive in your hands will be less. This is due to tax, as the brutto amount does not take into account the payment of taxes.

As for the high level of salary, the amount depends on the province. As of the beginning of 2023, the highest wages were observed in the following regions:

- Mazovian Voivodeship - 5860 ($1400) PLN per month;

Are there any disadvantages of working in Poland?

As in any other country, there are problems that foreigners may face when looking for a job in Poland. For example, the Polish language can be a problem for those who do not speak it. Some employers prefer to hire only those who are fluent in the language.

In addition, it is worth recognizing that the social security system in Poland is not as well-developed as in some other EU countries. Some foreign workers may face problems if they fall ill or lose their jobs.

Cultural differences can also be a challenge for foreign workers, especially if they come from countries with different cultures and customs.

How to find a job and what is the employment process like in Poland?

The job search in this country is quite diverse. There are many online platforms in Poland that help foreign workers find a job in Poland. They include the following sites:

 Indeed;

• LinkedIn;

• Glassdoor;

• Pracuj.pl;

• Praca.gov.pl;

 Jober.pl;

• Aplikuj.pl.

As for the documents, you will need a passport, work permit, tax number, health insurance, etc. to work in Poland. For EU citizens, the documents will depend on the country they come from.

To obtain a work or residence permit, a foreigner must apply to the voivode's office. Permits are issued after the application procedure. At the end, a single document is issued, allowing both residence and work in Poland, without the need to obtain an additional work permit.

Employment procedure for foreigners in Poland

As in many countries, after you find a suitable vacancy and send your CV, you may be invited for an interview. This can be either in person or online, depending on the employer.

If you are selected for the position, you will be offered a contract, which you should read and sign carefully. The contract will specify the working conditions, salary, working hours, and other important details.

In general, working in Poland for foreigners has its advantages and disadvantages, but with the right preparation and the ability to adapt to new conditions, it can be a great experience and an opportunity for personal and professional growth.
